In an interview with Télé-Loisirs, actress Caitriona Balfe spoke about the intimate scene between Claire and John, which occurred in episode 11 of season 7 ofOutlander. Devastated by grief, Claire first thinks about committing suicide and she doesn’t care when John tells her that the English want to hang her for treason and espionage. “It was a challenge” : Caitriona Balfe opens up about filming the intimate scene between Claire and John

“Working with David Berry was great, Caitriona Balfe told us. Of course, Sam and I have shot so many scenes together since the beginning, we know each other so well, but to have to do this with someone new, it was a challenge. And David was great. We also worked with Vanessa Coffey, our Intimacy Coordinator. It was great to be able to find that journey for these two characters who are in so much pain and need comfort. And to find out what that meant and how it would manifest, when it’s not about pleasure or sex, but about pain and comfort.”
