Were you stressed before going on stage tonight?
Lea: No, honestly, I’m not someone who gets very stressed when I arrive on stage. I practice a discipline that requires you to relax and be in a really cool state. And then, if you tense your body, you have pain, so I was really relaxed. When I’m on stage, I’m just happy to be there and share what I made the strong enough choice to put everything in place for.
You were praised by the jury following your performance. Is this a kind of recognition for you?
It’s safe! We’re not going to lie, it’s always nice when we get feedback like that, especially from artists. So it was a good and beautiful moment, a beautiful exchange. What I like is understanding people, observing them and understanding their journey and hearing the compliments of the jurors was pleasant because I had the impression that they were putting into words what I managed to achieve. send as emotions.
Did you think you would go this far in the adventure?
I completely let myself go. I said to myself, I give what I have to give and we’ll see, so I was even surprised (laughs). At the time, I depolarized this situation, that is to say, I weighed the pros and cons of what could lead me to return home. Given that my performances require a lot of organization, particularly with specific codes, the fact that I have to find people to repeat me, etc., I said to myself: ‘If I don’t pass, it will be a good thing to be able to go home and concentrate on other projects’. When I first heard my name, I was happy and told myself that all things considered, it was going to be a good challenge. The advantage is that since the start of my participation I already know what I want to do so I am already visualizing.
-So you’re already ready for what’s next?
Yes and no (laughs), because there are still things that are put in writing, then you have to put them into the body and really see what it gives. I invented a new hair suspension apparatus. I again took on new challenges to really renew something and show other colors of this discipline. And each time, the idea is really to surprise the audience, to tell new stories and to send viewers into new worlds.
What message would you like to convey to viewers?
I think it’s a good illustration of a person who is completely normal, like everyone else, and who just had dreams that were a little bit extraordinary, and who tries to achieve them with a little bit of naivety. I feel aligned now because I followed my little finger, and then I accepted being a little “abnormal” too (laughs), and that’s really nice because I think that my path invites to think about what we really want to do inside ourselves.
