In order to meet the requirements of those responsible for the Parisian museum and to film episode 6 there, the production of the TF1 event series imagined “a burglary that is not realistic”.

After the Eiffel Tower, the Château de and the Parisian barges, Tamara (Camille Lou), Sylia (Constancé Labbé) and Alexia Chamade (Claire Romain) continue their exploration of the emblematic places of in search of a work that belonged to their father disappeared ten years earlier in the mysterious fire of his art gallery. This Monday evening, the three burglar sisters find themselves at the Louvre Museum where they must recover a painting from the police but will have trouble with another, much more dangerous team of burglars.

The production of Cat’s Eyes also encountered difficulties filming in the museum located in the 1st arrondissement of Paris. Before being able to install her cameras, she had to convince the people in charge of the location who were experienced in filming. Because the idea of showing several million viewers a burglary didn’t really appeal to them. “Early versions of the script made discussions tense. Telling a story about a burglary immediately made them tense, it’s not necessarily a subject that amuses them. They considered, rightly, that they were not there to give instructions or ideas to people for robbing the Louvre.says Benjamin Dupont-Jubien, producer at Big Band Story.

Luckily, the museum management has several fans of Cat’s Eyes “who really wanted to do the series”. Nevertheless, to meet the requirements of those responsible for the Louvre, the production imagined “a burglary that is not realistic”. “Those who know the location well will immediately see that the consecutive traffic shots, where we see the characters walking around, are not logical. It is impossible to establish a circulation from the series”adds the producer.

Filming in such a location is not without risk and the priority of those responsible for the Louvre and production has been to preserve the works found there. “We set up a security team to monitor ourselves. Everyone, both our teams and the extras we had listed, were closely monitored so that there were no incidents. We weren’t the first to shoot at the Louvre but we made things a little more complicated by having the actors run around, it’s not the same thing as two characters talking in front of a painting.underlines Benjamin Dupont-Jubien.

Like the Eiffel Tower, renting the Louvre Museum represents a certain cost. “Yes it’s very expensiverecognizes the producer. It’s one of the largest museums in the world, there are major works”he recalls. The production took advantage of this privileged access to welcome Tsukasa Hojo, the creator of the Japanese manga.
