Going back in the programs of the TF1 channels or pausing to better bypass the advertisements is no longer possible for Freebox subscribers via Oqee.
Recently, many Freebox subscribers have noticed a new restriction imposed by TF1 on the Free Oqee TV application available on numerous media for all Freebox subscribers: it is now impossible to skip advertisements during delayed viewing on the channel via direct control or start over. If this measure was already in place for replays, this new ban proves frustrating and even very annoying for subscribers who had become accustomed to using the pause and fast forward functions on the delay to bypass advertisements, especially when they could not follow a live program or who wanted to catch up on live broadcasts. For the moment, only the channels of the private audiovisual group, namely TF1, TMC, TFX and TF1 Séries Films are affected by this restriction.
When Freebox subscribers try to speed up during an ad break, a message is now displayed on screen: “At the request of TF1this action is blocked during this advertising passage. No other choice then but to watch the commercial break until it ends. This change is part of a broader strategy by TF1 to maximize advertising revenue. By requiring viewers to view advertising spots even after a delay, the channel ensures that advertisers benefit from optimal visibility, which is essential for it in a context of increased competition with streaming platforms without advertising or with advertising. limited (like Netflix, Disney+, or Amazon Prime Video).
Freebox Pop and Ultra are directly affected by this restriction. Do not hesitate to give us your feedback whether or not you notice this limitation on the Devialet Player of the Freebox Delta and on the Freebox Revolution via the live control function. Today there is another solution to free yourself, recording programs on the hard drive of your Freebox or on the cloud.
