The phoenix torch Koh LantaUgo, was finally extinguished by the last survivors of this edition when Sophia was eliminated after losing in the blind immunity test. “I no longer saw the end of the tunnel even though it wasn’t that far away” : Sophia (Koh-Lanta, The Cursed Tribe) remembers his state of mind before the immunity test
Just after the comfort test which proved very difficult for the candidates disappointed at not being able to share time with their loved ones, the candidates must face a final test. A torrential rain falls on them. Sophia remembers this event: “This is what I feared more than anything. We were very lucky because those were the only two days where we slept in the rain, but for the time being it was pouring, tropical rain, it made up for the days where we hadn't had any. On a mental level it finished us off.” Affected by her defeats and the lack of those close to her, Sophia breaks down: “Not winning an event put a lot of pressure on myself, at one point I said that I wonder what I'm doing here. It no longer made any sense to me, I no longer saw the end of the tunnel even though it wasn't that far away. I put myself in a corner alone to cryI try not to show my vulnerability but it didn't help me.”
Sophia eliminated from Koh-Lanta, The cursed tribe : “It was our worst night but it’s one of my best memories”
On the eve of the final immunity test, the last candidates (Jacques, Thibault, Ilyesse, Charlotte, Cécile, Sophia and Ugo) suffer one last obstacle: “It's cold, things aren't drying, the roof was no longer waterproof and the wind was coming from the front. It was terribly cold, we huddled together. Especially since the cold is my worst phobia, even during the heatwave I sleep with a duvet. We were dreading the cold, so we got it as a gift. Fortunately we were united.“Amidst the drops of water and the wind, the candidates saw a light in the middle of the storm. Sophia looks back with tenderness on a suspended moment of the adventure: “We all took turns watching the fire. I will remember this moment all my life, when we were under the cabin all huddled together, we heard the laughter of Jacques and Ilyesse telling each other things. It saved us. It was our worst night ever Koh Lantabut it's one of my best memories.”
