The sixth episode of Dragon Ball DAIMA lifts the veil on the origins of this character, who is becoming more and more important within the anime created in honor of the 40th anniversary of Toriyama’s manga.
Dragon Ball DAIMA, a real success after 6 episodes
Since October 11, 2024 fans of “DBZ” can watch the brand new Dragon Ball series, titled Dragon Ball DAIMA. The project on which (the late) Akira Toriyama actively worked, makes a real return to the sources with the saga, far from the direction taken for Dragon Ball Super.
Created in honor of the 40th anniversary of the illustrious manga, Dragon Ball DAIMA takes place right after the Buu arc. No respite for the Z Fighters, the terrible Gomah, who became king of demons following the death of Dabra, decides to reduce them to the state of babies using the Dragon Balls. For Goku, helped by Shin and the mysterious Glorio, it is a matter of regaining their usual form and saving Dendé, detained in the Demon Kingdom.
Shin’s Origins Revealed
For this anniversary project, Toei Animation, in collaboration with Shūeisha and Capsule Corporation, takes us to completely new places, with its share of new characters, and of course, secrets to reveal. After six episodes released, we learned that the Demon Realm is divided into three worlds, that Namekians are demonsthat Kaioshin was a glind (a term previously unknown in the saga), and therefore that his peers, the beings with pointy ears, were almost all of them from the Demon Realm.
But the revelations about Shin go further since the release of the sixth episode on November 15. After discovering his speciesviewers have just learned how he and his race came to be. We discover that the Glinds are born from five different treeslocated in the heart of the Demon Realm.
In addition to giving pride of place to the iconic humor of the beginnings of the saga created in 1984, and offering very successful animation, Dragon Ball DAIMA offers fans an adventure full of freshness and new features. By choosing to place its plot in the Kingdom of Demons, the franchise opens up its lore, while opening up to neophytes. A real success that we can enjoy every week. See you next week.
