Bridgerton on Netflix: sensual scenes between Colin and Penelope cut during editing? The fans are furious! – News Series

Rumors about the deletion of scenes between Colin and Penelope in season 3 of “The Bridgertons Chronicles” are starting to flourish on social networks and fans are unhappy.

Available since June 13 on Netflix, the second part of season 3 of The Bridgerton Chronicles continues and closes the narrative arc between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton), who went from best friends to lovers.

If most fans are satisfied with this romance as a whole, about one of the favorite couples of readers of Julia Quinn’s novels, from which the series is based, some subscribers of the platform are unhappy.

Cut scenes in season 3 of “Bridgerton”?

Some fans are complaining about the screen time given to the main couple in the entirety of season 3 and wish Penelope and Colin had more scenes together, especially in the second part.

“Really, that’s my main complaint about this season lol, I really think Penelope and Colin should have had A LOT MORE screen time in part two. It’s not like they were the *main couple* of the season, I wanted to see more of them.”

And that screen time together could have been longer as rumors are flourishing on social media that scenes between Colin and Penelope were deleted.

In any case, this is what fans say, who were able to see the second part of season 3 of Bridgerton in advance. According to them, four sequences were removed from the final cut.

It would be a sex scene after their argument in the aisle of the milliner Madame Delacroix, a scene where they are discussing Colin’s future as a writer in bed, a scene where Colin blows sweet words to Penelope in front of the mirror and a montage of sex scenes at the end of episode 8.

If for the moment, neither Netflix nor producer Shonda Rhimes have responded to these allegations, some fans have searched social networks and interviews with the main people concerned to find clues corroborating or contradicting the statements of Internet users.

An interview with Nicola Coughlan and Luke Newton seems to contradict fans’ claims, at least regarding episode 7 since in an interview for Fashion Magazinethe Irish actress explains that they called this chapter “the ‘forbidden sex’ episode” :

“After discovering that [Penelope est Lady Whistledown]they don’t see each other again for a while, then they meet in the dark alley and they say ‘quick, quick, quick, quick, quick'”.

This scene takes place the day before their wedding and although they kiss passionately, they restrain their impulses and separate to meet again the next day at church. When we look at the footage in question, it seems impossible that a cut was made.

But fans still believe that other scenes could have been cut and are asking themselves many questions, especially since they noticed that Tom Verica, director of Bridgerton, liked a fan comment asking what for “deleted scenes” to be released.

“I know everyone is wary of rumors, but Bridgerton director Tom Verica liked a comment about deleted scenes. I don’t know what that means, but it’s something to note.”

A petition launched by fans for “deleted scenes” of Colin and Penelope

Even if these are only rumors at the moment, that doesn’t stop some fans, convinced of their claims, from launching a petition to ask Netflix to include these potential deleted scenes. The petition, launched five days ago, has already collected more than 55,000 signatures:

“We would like Netflix to do justice to Polin, either by releasing the deleted scenes in a separate episode, or by restoring the episodes as they were originally intended. Luke and Nicola have done a fantastic job, and knowing that these beautiful and vulnerable scenes will not “were not accepted seems to be an injustice to their hard work.”

For the moment, neither Netflix nor Shondaland have spoken on this matter and on the request of fans. We will have to wait for a response from the main stakeholders to find out if there were actually deleted scenes or not.

Season 3 of “The Bridgertons Chronicles” is available on Netflix.
