Molotov abandons his 100 million euro battle against TF1, the channels remain paying

After 5 years of conflicts, Molotov and TF1 have finished arguing and have reached an agreement, but the group's channels will remain paid on the platform.

The hatchet is buried. Since 2019, Molotov and TF1 have been fighting in the courts over the free broadcasting of Bouygues group channels on the streaming service. In 2022, Molotov finally had to pay 8.5 million euros and integrate TF1, TMC, TFX, TF1 Séries Films and LCI into its paid version. A similar conflict took place with M6.

There will be no appeal of this case and Molotov, who had nevertheless filed a complaint before the commercial court where he claimed 100 million euros in damages for “economic violence” and “submission to unbalanced obligations” , finally dropped the case.

Indeed, according to information from L'Informe, a conciliation agreement was reached between the two groups. However, no changes for users are expected: the channels will remain in the paid plan.
