Several new twists and turns this morning in the violent face-to-face between the host and producer Arthur and the deputy for France Insoumise, Aymeric Caron. On the one hand, there is the response from Aymeric Caron this Sunday after, on the other hand Arthur who requests the lifting of the parliamentary immunity of the Insoumis deputy and announces that he is filing a complaint against him.
It was the MP who set the fire on Friday by affirming that in a message posted on X, that the host and producer of TF1 supported the massacres in Gaza. As explained to you this morning, jeanmarcmorandini.comArthur therefore responded with a video and a text asking the MP:
“I also challenge you to respond to the video that shows your delusional obsession with Israel for months. Defending the Palestinian people is laudable, but that does not excuse turning a blind eye to the crimes of Hamas, which manipulates the suffering of its people for its interests. You do not react to the millions of deaths in the Democratic Republic of Congo, in Sudan, in Syria, in Yemen. Not a word in the thousands of? tweets that you pour out tirelessly. Perhaps because in these conflicts, no Jew is involved, Mr. Caron, your speech reeks of anti-Semitism!
In response, Aymeric Caron wrote a very long message this Sunday evening, to be discovered in full below. The deputy accuses Arthur, among other things, of having launched a raid against him, adding: “Failed. I will not keep silent. Never.”
But Aymeric Caron goes further and accuses Arthur of being close to the Diaspora Defense Forces association:
‘On March 27 you were the guest of one of his evenings. However, DDF openly supports the Israeli army in its action in Gaza (despite the multiple proven crimes of which it is guilty), denies Israeli colonization. (…)
Are you able to say that Netanyahu is a war criminal who should be in prison? Are you able to say that war crimes and crimes against humanity have been taking place in Gaza over the past year that revolt you?
Are you able to denounce the daily crimes of settlers in the West Bank? Are you able to denounce the colonization, occupation, arrests, arbitrary detention and torture of thousands of Palestinians, even children as young as 12? Are you capable of it?”
Reaction this evening from Arthur, and this time it is on the legal level. In a press release published on X, Mes François Zimeray and Jessica Finelle announce that they are requesting the lifting of the immunity of the deputy La France Insoumise having accused the host of supporting the massacres in Gaza:
“Aymeric Caron accuses Arthur, in the same way as Crif and other figures of the Jewish community, of deliberately condoning what would constitute, according to him, a “genocide”, that is to say the most serious of crimes. These remarks constituting the imputation of a specific fact likely to undermine honor and reputation, they fall under the offense of public defamation defined in article 29 of the Law of 1881. These remarks serve neither the cause of truth nor that of peace. Deputy Caron is not content with grossly falsifying the perspective defended by Arthur, they are part of a hateful and obsessive rhetoric aimed at initiating an inhumanity trial against several Jewish personalities.
While all over the world anti-Jewish attacks wear the mask of defending civilian victims, these comments are irresponsible and unworthy of a parliamentarian. We will request the lifting of the immunity of Deputy Caron and will give them the legal action that their seriousness calls for.”
