Star Academy – Axel Marbeuf supports Djébril: “Some candidates were disadvantaged”

A few days ago, the tour of the star Academy gave a special concert at the Accor Arena in Bercy, one of the last dates before the final which will take place on July 7. On the occasion of this show event, Djebril poured his heart out on social networks, saying he couldn’t wait for the adventure to end, denouncing injustices behind the scenes: “I am relieved to end this cycle of exposure and its share of discrimination, exclusion and unequal treatment. And no, not all artists are in the same boat. Regardless, I welcome this ending with great serenity. I close a chapter in which, week after week, I could grow in the kindness of my comrades, counterbalanced by an ambient climate which forced me to realize that “I was not in my place”. A context in which I felt neither respected as a person nor as an artist. (…) A magnificent tour where I once again fought and still fight to be respected and so that I can be treated like everyone else“.

Candice experienced similar things

On the occasion of the release of his new single For the first time streaming this Friday June 14, 2024, semi-finalist Axel Marbeuf gave an interview to Ciné-Télé Revue and confirmed his colleague’s words: “I saw it during the show. Yes, at times there were candidates who were perhaps favored, but especially some who were disadvantaged. Not throughout the entire show, at times. (…) He had to say it. Candice and I fully support him. Whereas Candice has seen and experienced a lot of similar things, I think. I can only defend them and give them my support. And the day they want to say more, I will be there to support them, and to tell them what I saw“.

So that the next ones don’t experience the same thing…

Axel then explained that he himself felt different treatment at one point in the castle of Dammarie-lès-Lys: “I have not always been favored, I have sometimes been disadvantaged. It’s part of the show, it’s a TV game where the goal is for the show to work. That doesn’t take away from the incredible adventure we had. But (…) when there are things that are not nice, not necessarily cool, then it is our duty to talk about it so that others do not experience the same thing. And beyond that, if there are deeper issues, it’s important for us to stand up for ourselves to find the respect we deserve to have as humans“.
