“Koh Lanta : the cursed tribe”
With his departure, “Koh-Lanta: The Cursed Tribe” loses a major, if not essential, character. Gustin, the 26-year-old Swiss lifeguard, was taken out by his comrades at the end of episode 12, a victim of Cassandra’s revenge. Remember: last week, the Lyon novelist was forced to pack her bags, victim of linked destinies and the elimination from the council of Maxim, her partner.
Aware of the ex-jaunes’ strategy, Gustin had said nothing to the young woman he had been close to since the beginning of the adventure, which would have allowed Maxim to use his immunity collar and save their skin to the detriment of Jacques and Cécile. After winning a duel against Maxim, the young woman returned to the camp. And thanks to the help of Ugo, who gave her an immunity necklace, she pushed her ex-comrade towards the exit, confiding her disappointment to him with strong words.
“I think I disappointed her and she was sad,” confides Gustin to TF1Info. “For the first time, I didn’t defend her. And indirectly, I lied to her. So I understand that she got angry. Afterwards, I didn’t have much hope on this advice. But Ugo gives him a necklace, I didn’t expect that.” Would the Swiss candidate have been capable of such a heroic gesture? “Let’s just say that I too would have liked to have two necklaces in my possession!” he laughs. “Especially at this point in the game. There are only 10 people left and it’s getting very complicated.”
In the Philippines, Gustin distinguished himself with several brilliant performances in the events… and his assumed individualism. During the ambassadors, he did not hesitate to sacrifice Emmanuelle in order to advance in the game. We also remember his recurring frictions with Sarah over food rations. Here again, he did not hesitate to join the yellow side to eliminate his former red teammate.
While making “Koh-Lanta”, I didn’t discover something that will change my life!
Gustin
Several months after filming, he took responsibility for all his decisions, comforted by those close to him with whom he followed each episode. “I say things as I think”, he admits, aware that his entire character has left an impression. And when asked if his stay in the Philippines changed him, he sighs: “Frankly no. No life lessons. No questioning! I haven’t discovered something that will change my life!”
As he reminded Denis Brogniart when leaving his comrades, it was hunger above all that marked his adventure. “I had a great adventure, but I suffered a lot,” he admits. “It’s impressive when I see myself in the image because I couldn’t take it anymore. During the events, I received a shot of adrenaline which allowed me to move forward. But right afterward it was very hard. Honestly It hasn’t been very long since I managed to get over it.”

If “Koh-Lanta” has changed nothing in the uncompromising personality of this solid guy, his new notoriety has given him wings. And the desire to begin a professional shift in everyday life. “Lifeguard, it’s not really relevant anymore”, he reveals. “At the moment, I’m making videos on Youtube, on Instagram and on TikTok. And I decided to launch a brand of men’s jewelry, like the ones I wear in the photos on my networks.”
