here are the new members of the Seven

Season 4 of The Boys is expected on June 13 on Amazon Prime Video. The first three episodes will be broadcast at once, then one episode will be broadcast per week until the finale on July 18. Recently, we learned that the composition of the Seven will change. Eric Kripke, the showrunner, has just revealed more about these new members.

The boys: can’t wait!

Since its launch in 2019, the series The Boys has become an absolute reference in the superhero genre. Developed by Eric Kripkethe series is adapted from the cult comics of Garth Ennis. Taken by Jack Quaid, Karl Urban and Anthony Starrthe show is a violent, deranged, irreverent, and particularly trashy proposition that goes off the beaten track of the genre.

While season 4 will begin broadcasting on June 13we recently learned that the composition of the Seven would change. In fact, all that remains is 3 original members of the Seven. Alone Homelander, The Deep and A-Train are still standing. The rest of the team will consist of a completely new Black Black as well as two new recruits: Sister Sage and Firecracker, respectively played by Susan Heyward and Valorie Curry. For the last member, his identity remains secret, but it is rumored that it could be Ryan, Homelander’s son.

New preview of the Seven

As you might expect, Sister Sage and Firecracker are also totally decerebrate. All as violent and disturbed as the other members of the Seven, they will undoubtedly give Butcher’s team a hard time. Sister Sage will be a particularly tough enemy since she is presented as being the smartest person on the planet. In a recent interview with Entertainment WeeklyEric Kripke gave some details regarding these new characters:

While most supers are affluent white guys, we wanted a black woman raised in a low socio-economic area. So no one listens to him. She may be the smartest person on the planet, but no one listens to her. This is obviously satirical. She could cure all of society’s ills, but she can’t find anyone who will listen to her. So she becomes a bitter misanthrope.

As for Firecracker, she is a violent extremist. But Sage thinks she can leverage her fan base to gain more influence:

It turns out there’s always crazier. Firecracker is a representation of conspiracy movements and far-right disinformation media. This character has a surprising history that connects her to certain characters in our own world.

The Boys: Mexico

Eric Kripke also took advantage of this interview to discuss The Boys: Mexicoa spin-off developed by Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer (the screenwriter of Blue Beetle). For the moment, we know nothing about this third spin-off of the license The Boys (After Gen V And The Boys: Diabolical), but Eric Kripke has some information to share with us:

They are finalizing the pilot in agreement with the screenwriter. It’s a series with improbable ambition and a particularly funny one. But there are still many obstacles to face. We have to finalize the pilot, then write episode 2, etc… I think he can do it, and that he probably will. But we are still very far away from being able to offer easter eggs and connections.

While season 4 of The Boys hasn’t even been released on Amazon Prime yet, Eric Kripke’s series has already been renewed for a fifth season.
