Matthew Pellerin was on the podcast Solemnan episode in which the ex-candidate ofOF opened up about his journey.
Towards the very end of the episode, while Mathieu was discussing Quebec reality shows with the hosts, one of them told him about the famous video in which Claudie reacts to the announcement thatAlicia et Fred were chosen to be the new hosts ofOF.
A video that sparked a lot of reactions.
“(…) Ah, she saw herself there very stiff, I hadn’t even thought (…) she would have been good on the other hand, the little one (…)”, he remembers with a laugh.
The animator therefore asked him if animating was something he would have liked.
Not being sure of his answer, Mathieu replied that hosting on TV is enormously “corporate”, but that if you think about it more, Jay du Temple had succeeded very well in balancing the serious moments and the funny moments.
In addition, he affirmed that the new animators have a bit of the same style of animation as the previous animator, that is to say going from serious to funny.
“They’re not worse, I like them Fred. AliciaI’m like… I don’t give a damn, but it’s very correct (…)”, he explains, affirming that he is fan of Fred and that he finds it very funny.
“I think he is strong, he speaks a little crookedly… me too (…) he full improved during the season (…) I have confidence in him, he has my vote! (…),” declares Mathieuspeaking of the last season, since it seems that at the time of filming the episode, OD Mexico hadn’t started yet.
He then returned to the reaction of Claudie when she learned stream that it was Alicia et Fred which would replace Jay du Temple.
Despite the fact that Claudie had been very disappointed to know that she had not been approached, Mathieufor his part, claims that he had not even dared to believe that they could have been considered to do so.
“We? I have no interest in doing that! If they approached me maybe I would have considered it, but I never dared to think that I would host something (…),” he explains, later mentioning that he ‘probably would have done if it had been offered to him.
