Rachida Dati, new Minister of Culture and mayor of the 7th arrondissement of the capital, announced Wednesday on RTL her candidacy for mayor of Paris in 2026, the day after a press conference by the President of the Republic during which Emmanuel Macron assured that he had not discussed this subject with her.

“I am elected Parisian. My goal is Paris. I have one desire, it is to bring together all those who want things to change in Paris, I am determined,” she first responded to the question of whether she would be a candidate. Before answering in the affirmative: “It’s in three years. Of course, I always said it.”
