2 – In memory

Prospect Cottage, in Kent, England, is a moving place. It was in fact in this fisherman’s house in the south of the British territory that the artist Derek Jarman, in the early 90s, sick with AIDS and knowing he was doomed, retired. He spent most of his time maintaining and shaping the garden of pebbles, endemic plants, tools and driftwood.

6 – American graphics

Artist, press cartoonist, illustrator… Saul Steinberg was one of the figures of post-war American graphic art and a friend of the Eameses.

In the 50s, he had fun running his line over two of the couple’s chairs, drawing a reclining woman and a sleeping cat, which also adorns the cover of the catalog of the online exhibition of the Eames Institute of Infinite Curiosity. The book details the explosion of creativity that emerged from a historic meeting during the summer of 1950, as well as the history of these two legendary armchairs.
