Télé-Loisirs: How did you get into Iris Koben’s jackets?
Béatrice Dalle : In my life, I have never interpreted anything other than what I am. Iris, it’s me. I’m not a child who gets dressed up one day as someone and the next day as someone else. I never read the scripts, I only trust the director. So far, it has always worked for me.

This episode addresses violence against women. Was this one of your requests?
No, but for me, if you hit a woman or a kid, you’re not a man. I experienced this violence with the guy I married in prison. I’ve had a lot of love in my life, and this is the only one I miss. He screwed himself up at the end of our story, which is a good thing because he would have hurt other women.

Do you think artists should support certain struggles?
This is starting to piss me off! It is up to politicians to address these issues. We have to stop always relying on the actors. Those who do, very well. But I am neither an elected representative of the people, nor a teacher of lessons, much less an example. And I don’t need to go to the cops to denounce the behavior of some people. People who wake up 20 years later, it pisses me off. I did it on time.
Who guides you in your decisions in general?
Person. I don’t need influencers. I am not a soldier on the front but just an actress whose positions do not change the world. Which allows me to say and do what I want, as long as it does not harm anyone’s physical integrity.
Since your beginnings in 37°2 in the morning thirty-eight years agohave you found a way to live this job in a fulfilling way?
Everything is going very well! I never leave the house, I very rarely go to parties and I spend my nights with my poets…
