By participating in Koh Lanta, adventurers know what to expect. Sleeping on the floor, not having enough to eat, giving your all during physical challenges, but not only that… However, once there, certain aspects are difficult to bear. Like the lack of food. Everyone paid the price, including Jean. The carpenter recently forced to leave the adventure by medical decision even brought home certain eating disorders that his partner had to deal with. For Purepeople.comhe tells.

What was the hardest thing for you in Koh Lanta ?

Hunger ! This is what is at the heart of the whole adventure in our heads. We fight every day to eat. Hunger is our fuel. Without food, we have very little energy, without energy we don’t move forward and it’s the psychological that takes over. Arriving at a stage we begin to feel gloomy and we enter into darkness and difficulty. This is where you have to fight and be strong. Beyond the physical, it’s really psychological.

How many pounds have you lost?

On the adventure, I didn’t have a scale. But I think I lost about ten kilos. It goes very quickly. From the first days, I measured it by my swimming shorts which were becoming too big. It was difficult to hold the clothes in the end.

How long did it take you to get back to your ideal weight?

Very quickly ! I even quickly exceeded my ideal weight (laughs). When I returned to France, I gave myself lots of good resolutions. But finally, we enter the first supermarket we come across and there we do something crazy: we quickly fill the shopping cart. The brain no longer has limits but the body says stop. I am lucky to have been properly followed by production, we have psychologists, doctors. And I also have my loved ones and in particular my partner who put my feet back on the ground! It was really effective in keeping me from doing crazy things.

Aurélien confided that he had “bulimic urges” since his return. Do you also have difficulties with eating?

No way. My only concern was my own will. Everything I could get my hands on, I swallowed. No health problems. But there were no more barriers. My brain missed so much that I had to eat and eat and eat again. At night I got up to eat in the fridge. And then the concern is also financial. At one point, my girlfriend said to me: “Hey, we’re not going shopping every week!“I have since stabilized and reasoned.
