Faced with Jordan De Luxe, Gérald Watelet was keen to clarify: “If I stopped, it’s not because I don’t like it. But it’s like in love, when you start to get tired, there’s a problem. So it’s better to leave when you’re just tired than when you’re out of love.“, he analyzed, explaining that he tends to get bored during the filming ofDeal Done : “A day, we make between twenty and twenty-five items behind the counter. When the viewer watches the show there is a movement, there is a dynamic, because he goes from one room to another. But behind the counter all day, I’m bored“, he revealed.

Gérald Watelet also confided that he informed his fellow buyers of his departure by message in a common discussion group: “I officially announced to them three days ago (at the time of recording At Jordan, September 23, 2024, Editor’s note) and just about everyone sent me a message“, he assured. The 60-year-old Belgian also revealed that the idea of leaving the show “has been simmering for a year already“emphasizing: “I was asked to stay (…) I felt obliged to buy, but I refused to buy anything. So I told production that if they wanted me to continue then okay but if I don’t buy anything, I don’t want anyone to comment on me“, he concluded.
