In Koh-Lantait is well known, trust is a rare value. In the episode of The Cursed Tribe broadcast this Tuesday, September 24 on TF1, Mélissa paid the price. A week after escaping from the cursed tribe’s island, she was eliminated by the yellow team she had chosen to join. Her attempt to encourage the other adventurers to vote against Chief Frédéric was a failure since only Ilyesse ultimately voted against Charlotte. Back with Mélissa on her unusual adventure.

Melissa, eliminated from Koh-Lanta, The cursed tribe on TF1: “I was confident in my strategy

Tele-Leisure : You almost left right after Denis Brogniart extinguished your torch. If he hadn’t stopped you, would you have left the game without getting an explanation?
Melissa: Yes of course, I was planning to leave without explanation.. I was so upset that I didn’t think I had the capacity to listen to anyone.

Were you embarrassed that Denis Brogniart asks you to stay?
No way. Denis Brogniart brought me back to reason. I told myself that it was time for them to take responsibility for their choice and give me some explanations.

According to you, who put Frederic in the secret of your strategy against him?
I think it was Charlotte because she was the least excited…

Were you confident in your bold strategy or did you have any fears?
I was confident in my strategy but less in the confidence I could give to Sophia, Charlotte and Fabrice. I was sure of Sophia and Charlotte’s votes, but I doubted Fabrice’s ability to vote against Frédéric. In the end, all three voted against me, so big disappointment.

Were you touched to see that only Ilyesse, your former teammate from the Cursed Tribe Island, didn’t vote against you?
Of course, but I had zero doubts about Ilyesse’s loyalty. At 23 years old, he is an adventurer who is already extremely inspiring. I had spoken with him on the island of the cursed tribe and I know that he is a man of his word, who has great values.

Why didn’t the other adventurers follow you?
I think it’s out of fear of reprisals. If it went through, so much the better, but if it didn’t, they would have put their jobs at risk. They didn’t have the courage to follow through with this strategy that had won them over from the very first seconds…

Melissa eliminated from Koh-Lanta, The cursed tribe : “I had no choice but to be naive

What did Jacques’ little phrase at the end of the meeting inspire in you, who reproached you for making a spectacle of yourself when you expressed your disappointment?
It annoyed me. I was alone against the yellow team, humiliated, betrayed. All I wanted to do was leave and live my sadness alone. We are certainly in a game, but I put feelings into it. Maybe I was a little too emotional. I was a little naive and at the same time I had no choice. than being naive in the end. At no time did I doubt Charlotte and Sophia, with whom we had agreed to move forward together.

Is that why you say you were too emotional?
Yes. I trusted them blindly even though they were the first to vote against me. I didn’t find Sophia consistent in her speech, in her attitude and in her strategy, if she had one.

A final word on the cursed island, on which you lived most of your adventure. Was it as hard as it looked on screen?
It’s even harder than what we could see on the screen. Because of hunger and especially because we had no tests. There was only the search for this famous anito which was synonymous with an exit for us, but that’s all. Honestly, I thought I was going to die more from boredom than from hunger. I had an atypical career path Koh-Lanta. A bit like my life. Finally, my Koh-Lanta looks like me.
