On September 12, the series HPI has made its big comeback to unveil the second part of its season 4 on the French small screen. Now, it is the turn of the United States to discover the story of Morgane Alvaro…
On September 12, the American channel ABC unveiled the trailer for the US version of HPIat the same time as the second part of season 4 was launched in France on TF1. A coincidence? Maybe not. This American version, called High Potentialwill start airing on ABC this Tuesday, September 17, 2024, and will also be available on the Hulu platform. Also, since the latter two belong to the Walt Disney Company, we hope to see it arrive one day in France on Disney+, alongside HPI who found refuge there after its broadcast on TF1.
High Potential: a scenario similar to HPI
Since its first season aired in April 2021, HPI is a real phenomenon, with nearly 10 million viewers for each episode, and this for three years now. A success that has even been heard in the United States, which now has its own version with High Potential.
The flamboyant Audrey Fleurot is replaced here by Kaitlin Olson in the role of Morgan, while the shy and endearing Karadec, played in HPI by Mehdi Nebbou, takes on the features of Daniel Sunjata. And yes, the characters keep the same names! It would also seem that this American remake is very close to the original French series, with almost identical scenes as shown in the trailer for the program across the Atlantic.
Lollipop in her mouth, eccentric clothes (although less colorful than those worn by Audrey Fleurot), this mother is an ordinary woman who takes on a series of odd jobs to support her three children. In the trailer, we see her cleaning and solving a case in a few seconds, as in the first trailer for HPI. But this is not the only sequence that resembles the original version, there is also this crime scene where the heroine arrives with her baby in a stroller. The creators clearly did not want to change anything.
HPI: what future for the French series?
While a fifth season is already in the works, it has been announced as the last, much to the dismay of fans. However, HPI has not said its last word and is perhaps preparing its sequel in a completely new format… This is in any case what Medhi Nebbou announced in the columns of TV Staras reported Diverto :
“There will be a fifth and final season. However, it is not yet confirmed, but there is also talk of event episodes and perhaps even a feature film for the cinema.”
Which gives us hope of finding our favourite duo Morgane/Karadec on the big screen, or at least in special episodes like the series can do. Clem.
