A 17-year-old boy was killed in an accident on the Adrenaline attraction in Cap d’Agde in Hérault on Saturday evening. This is not the first time an accident has occurred there. In 2019, a man was injured.

During the night from Saturday to Sunday, a 17-year-old boy died when his head hit one of the pillars supporting the carousel. A 19-year-old woman is seriously injured and hospitalized in Montpellier. The investigation opened by the Agde police station, under the authority of the public prosecutor of Béziers, should shed light on this tragedy and its origin.

This is not the first time that an accident has occurred on the Adrénaline merry-go-round. In August 2019, a man in his 50s who was riding the carousel with a family member was injured. His head had hit the ground. An injury that required several stitches.
When he wanted to trigger the system that released the strap to fall into the void, the system got stuck. The passenger had to insist on releasing the strap which had finally come loose in a violent movement, wrote Metropolitan News in 2019. The Béziers prosecutor’s office had ordered the carousel to be closed as a precaution until a legal expert issued a report.
Another accident occurred on an Adrénaline merry-go-round at the Foire du Trône in Paris in April 2017. It consisted of two white towers, each 50 m high, connected by a cable. At the time of the descent, she found herself hanging only by the feet upside down, going back and forth several times and had been close to death. The carousel had been closed and dismantled, reported 20 minutes.
