SEOUL, June 26 (Yonhap) — Local petrochemical company GS Caltex has signed a strategic partnership agreement with French cosmetics group L’Oreal to cooperate on the design of organic cosmetics and realize the value of shared ecological responsibilities and the cyclical economy, according to the South Korean company’s announcement on Tuesday.
In 2019, GS Caltex began production of butane-2,3-diol using genetically unmanipulated biomass and bacteria as this substance is known for its moisturizing and anti-inflammatory effects as well as excellence its ability to diffuse healthy materials with a pleasant feeling on the skin.
At a signing ceremony held on June 26 in Seoul, the CEO of GS Caltex, Hur Sae-hong, indicated that “we will strengthen our ecological leadership while mobilizing our research and production capacities by relying on the group L’Oréal which is striving to deal with climate change”.
Also present on this occasion, Barbara Lavernos, Deputy General Manager of L’Oréal Group in charge of Research, Innovation and Technologies, noted that the group will achieve sustainable innovation and open the future of beauty with GS Caltex. .
