Beyoncé enforces a minute’s silence following the death of the brother of a Renaissance tour choreographer

It’s a heartbreaking sequence that has been circulating on Twitter since yesterday, following Queen B’s show in Hamburg, Germany. The day before the show, one of dance captains of the tour, Amari Marshall, tragically lost her big brother. The choreographer still wanted to go on stage on the day of the concert and Beyoncé modified her show for the occasion.

During the songs “My Power” and “Black Parade” (as well as the interlude between the two on the powerful “Alright” by Kendrick Lamar), Beyoncé and her troupe of choreographers surrounded Amari Marshall, before starting a minute of silence during which the dancer pointed her hands to the sky. Several members of the troupe could not hold back their tears, including Queen B, who also struggled to resume the song, as evidenced by the videos shared on Twitter.

Amari Marshall, nicknamed Amari Monster, is a choreographer, dancer and creative director, particularly hailed for her work alongside Ciara, Pharrell Williams and Rihanna. On Instagram, the dance captain of the “Renaissance World Tour” shared a moving message for her brother, while Beyoncé dedicates, on her website, the entire Hamburg show to Andre Jose Marshall II, along with the message “Rest In Power” (“Rest in power”).
