Adil Rami did not mince his words! The former French defender took a stand against Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar following their recent statements on football.
Known for his outspokenness, Rami has once again made headlines. During a recent podcast, he expressed harsh criticism of two of soccer’s biggest stars: Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar.
Rami first attacked Ronaldo’s recent claim that the Saudi Pro League would now be more competitive than the Spanish La Liga. Obviously unconvinced by the former Marseille player’s words, Rami did not hesitate to declare: “When Ronaldo says that La Liga is inferior to the Saudi championship, it is clear that he has his reasons. Let’s be honest here.”
Continuing his criticism, Rami expressed doubts about Ronaldo’s abilities to perform in a league as demanding as Ligue 1: “If he were to join Ligue 1, I’m sure he wouldn’t score 20 goals per season. This league is very tough and athletic.”

Rami didn’t spare Neymar either, hitting him directly on his support for the Saudi Pro League. He suggested that Neymar’s statements stemmed from his own physical decline: “Neymar has probably gained between 10 and 15 kilograms since his days in Ligue 1. I understand that he claims it’s stronger there, but it ‘is simply false.’
-He even called Neymar’s devoted fans “sheep”, insinuating that they blindly follow their idol’s statements without critical thought.
These comments have already circulated on social media, sparking mixed reactions between those who appreciate Rami’s frankness and those who feel he has crossed the line. Known for his provocative nature, Rami has a history of media provocations.
