The Barclays Center will be the scene, on the night of Saturday to Sunday, of an NBA regular season match between the Brooklyn Nets and the Miami Heat. After 5 defeats in a row conceded on its floor, Brooklyn will try to offer a little happiness to its courageous fans in a few hours. The good start to the season made by the Nets now seems a long way off, injuries (notably that of their top scorer Cam Thomas), the departure of Dennis Schröder to Golden State and the incessant transfer rumors having greatly complicated the coach’s task Rudy Fernandez. The latter does what he can to keep his players motivated and give them the desire to win matches, but as proven by the Nets’ catastrophic record since the start of 2025 (2 wins – 11 losses), the mission is very complicated for the Spanish coach.
It’s not happy in Miami at the moment either. Beaten 5 times in their last 6 outings, the Heat only occupies 9th place in the Eastern Conference. Having a negative record since its horrible defeat conceded to Milwaukee on the night of Thursday to Friday (96-125), the team coached by Erik Spoelstra urgently needs to win, and this trip to Brooklyn is therefore a godsend for it. It is without Jimmy Butler that the Heat will play against the Nets, the all-star having once again been suspended by his franchise for having missed a plane transfer.
