There are around 10,000 people in the district, including 7,000 in the city, according to the Ukrainian military administration in Pokrovsk. “There are no more children in the community, they all left,” the authorities said.
Before the Russian invasion, there were around 60,000 people in the city which is an important logistics node in Donetsk. Heavy fights are now taking place. The Russian army has seized all positions to the east, west and south of Pokrovsk and threatens to cut a large supply route.
