It was this Friday, January 24, 2025 in the morning that the murder occurred. In an apartment in the Mouillère district of Orléans, a 24-year-old man was stabbed and died from his injuries. The main suspect, a 20-year-old man, was arrested and taken into police custody. An investigation is opened for the “chef [d’accusation] murder and attempted murder“, Emmanuelle Bochenek-Puren, public prosecutor of Orléans, told AFP.
This Friday, late in the morning, unusual noises were heard in a residence in the Mouillère district. “Usually it’s always quiet. But yesterday I heard a lot of things“, testifies the neighbor who has lived, for two months, below the apartment where the tragedy took place.

As he prepared to go to work, unusual noises echoed in the apartment above: “Suddenly there was a sound of fighting. This continued for at least 15 minutes. We didn’t worry about it too much. Then there were some truly awful screams. She said: “He is dead, he is dead!”“
A scene of horror that this neighbor did not believe was real before leaving his house, seeing traces of blood and the arrival of the firefighters. Aged 20, the suspect would be the ex-spouse of the victim’s partner, as suggested by AFP. He was reportedly arrested and taken into police custody.
Usually, depending on the neighborhood, the residence was always very quiet.

Living in the apartment opposite, a neighbor was not present at the time of the incident. When she returned home in the evening after work, she observed traces of blood in the hallway and stairwell. It was only this morning when she asked the staff who were cleaning up the blood in the common areas that she learned the news. If she had never seen her neighbors, she is shocked today. “I’m a little scared, because I live alone“, she admits.
A resident of the residence for 22 years, another neighbor was also absent at the time of the incident. She never noticed any suspicious behavior in the apartment where the events took place. And even then “that the building is very poorly soundproofed, we hear everything!“Despite the tragedy, she refuses to give in to fear:”Something like this happens once every… We’ve never heard of this, so there’s no reason for it to happen again!“She assures that the neighborhood is usually very quiet.
So how did we get to this point? Led by the Orléans judicial police, the investigation should clarify the circumstances of the death of the 24-year-old man.
