Over 8 out of 10 French people consume coffee every day. If some people appreciate its full -bodied taste, others are mainly looking for its energizing effect which helps to start the day well. However, to live longer and healthier, it is essential not to drink your coffee at any time. According to a recent study published in the European Heart Journalin the morning would impose itself as the ideal moment to consume this drink. This could indeed help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease and increase longevity.
When should you consume coffee?
To arrive at this conclusion, the researchers followed coffee consumption habits of around 40,000 adults to assess their health impacts. They discovered that drinking coffee in the morning was associated with a significant reduction in the risks of cardiovascular disease and mortality. “Until now, research suggests that coffee consumption does not increase the risk of cardiovascular disease and seems to reduce the risk of certain chronic diseases, such as type 2 diabetes”explains the professor Lu Qiwho led this study. The study also revealed that 36 % of participants drank their coffee in the morning, 16 % consumed it at other times of the day, and 48 % did not drink.
