“A flashback”

The victims’ lawyer clarified how the events unfolded, explaining that the victims were part of a group of around fifteen Italians, “collaborators, employees and customers”, who came to eat at the restaurant after a conference and settled in a table where there were five ethanol lamps. After the orders were placed, diners noticed that “two of the lamps began to have a dwindling flame.”

A waiter then “went out onto the terrace with a bottle filled with a liquid, one of the heating lamps was completely off, he put the liquid directly on the heating lamp, which came back on, unfortunately the other lamp still had a flame and he poured the liquid directly into the lamp with the flame”, which resulted in “a flashback which went to the bottle filled with this liquid and the waiter, in a sudden gesture, sprinkled the liquid inflamed on five of the 15 guests.
