The bodies of two young people aged 20, reported missing on Wednesday, were found Thursday in Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains, in a town near Deauville (Calvados).
“Their death is of criminal origin,” announced the public prosecutor of Caen, Joël Garrigue. “One of the bodies has significant facial wounds and the other has marks likely to correspond to bullet holes.”
Important searches for a suspect in Seine-Maritime
Maëva and Martin had disappeared in Pont-L’Evêque. According to France 3 Normandie, a major search operation was launched in neighboring Seine-Maritime, in the town of Bolbec, in order to locate a man considered suspicious. The missing couple’s car was reportedly found in a parking lot in Saint-Martin-aux-Chartrains, opposite the town hall.
-The Caen public prosecutor’s office says it is unaware of “the circumstances in which these two young people were killed” and the possible motivations for the double homicide. At this stage of the investigation, now entrusted to an investigating judge, “no hypothesis is excluded”.
