Poll In Israel: Strong Adherence To Hostage Agreement And Rification With Saudi Arabia

The Institute for National Security Studies (INSS) has just published the results of an opinion survey conducted among the Israeli population. According to this study, a significant majority of 70% of Israelis approve of the hostage agreement, demonstrating a broad national consensus on this sensitive issue. Regarding relations with the United States, opinions are more divided regarding the reliability of former President Trump. “36% of respondents believe that Trump is sincerely committed to Israel’s security, while 40% consider that his support is mainly motivated by his personal interests,” the study said.

The survey also highlights strong popular support for a comprehensive regional solution. Indeed, 61% of those questioned were in favor of an initiative combining the release of hostages, a peace agreement with Saudi Arabia, the creation of an anti-Iranian regional coalition and a separation process with the Palestinians. .

On the Palestinian question, the outlook appears more pessimistic: 44% of respondents believe that a resolution of the conflict is currently impossible, while 34% consider that it can only be envisaged within the framework of a broader regional arrangement. .

“These results demonstrate a significant evolution in Israeli public opinion towards a more pragmatic approach to regional issues,” underlines the INSS in its report. The study thus reveals a population mainly in favor of complex diplomatic solutions, despite a certain skepticism on the Palestinian question.
