The president is going to the funeral of his former minister Didier Guillaume in Monaco after postponing a planned trip to Hauts-de-France.
Emmanuel Macron is going to Monaco this Thursday, January 23 to attend the funeral of his former minister Didier Guillaume, who died Friday at the age of 65.
This former socialist senator from Drôme, promoted to Minister of Agriculture between 2018 and 2020 in the government of Édouard Philippe, had become Minister of State at the head of the government of the principality since September.
Emmanuel Macron postpones his trip
His funeral forces Emmanuel Macron to postpone his trip to Hauts-de-France by a week. This was planned in Sambre-Avesnois, a territory straddling the North and the Aisne, which combines economic and social difficulties.
-The Head of State intends to take stock of the two “pacts” that he came to announce on site at the end of 2018 and then at the end of 2021. These aid plans aimed in particular at developing infrastructure, in particular the widening of the RN2 , but also education, public services, cultural and health services, such as the financing of the Maubeuge hospital center.
