What results for deployed optical fiber?

Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier. Assessment of the end of the deployment of optical fiber. The deployment of fiber is now complete in the territory of the Nivernais Bourbonnais community of communes (CCNB). A meeting took place at the Fraternité hall, in Saint-Pierre-le-Moûtier

: Nièvre Numérique and XP fiber took stock of the work carried out and presented the details by municipality.

To date, 99% of the work has been completed in the region, 3,467 homes and businesses are connectable and can immediately subscribe to an offer from a supplier.

The few remaining sockets are mainly located in buildings. Indeed, after several letters sent to owners of private buildings, Nièvre Numérique and XP are still awaiting the signing of an agreement and, without their authorization, XP cannot continue the deployment.

One person in the assembly spoke out, saying that “six people were still waiting for fiber in Neuville-lès-Decize”. Indeed, Nièvre Numérique admits to encountering connection difficulties, but it undertakes to remedy them as quickly as possible.

The CCNB is an important road junction, located between and Moulins on the A 77 linking and . Aware of this strategic positioning, the CCNB has made economic development a strong axis of its territorial policy by developing three activity zones which now benefit from access to the Nièvre Numérique very high-speed network.

Fiber has today become essential in order to bring in businesses and welcome new populations.

At the end of the meeting, the mayors received a fibered Commune plaque.

In the presence of Fabien Bazin, president of the departmental council and digital Nièvre, Yves Ribet, president of the CCNB, as well as the mayors of the municipalities concerned.
