Santiago Giménez produced an outstanding performance in Feyenoord’s impressive 3-0 win over Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League.
The Mexican international scored early in the match, opening the scoring with a superb first-time control that allowed him to escape towards goal, firing a powerful shot past famous goalkeeper Manuel Neuer. Just before half-time, Giménez added another goal to his account, converting a penalty and thus completing a superb first-half double against the formidable German team.
With this remarkable feat, Giménez made history by becoming the fourth player born outside of Europe to score a first-half double against Bayern Munich in European competition. He joins an elite list that includes soccer icons such as Lionel Messi, Neymar Jr. and Raphinha.

After a frustrating two months on the sidelines due to a hamstring injury earlier this season, Giménez has made a triumphant return, posting an impressive tally of four goals in his last four Champions League appearances. Reports are emerging of growing interest from AC Milan, suggesting the 23-year-old striker could soon make the jump to a bigger club.
