NBA: Jimmy Butler would be suspended again by the Miami Heat, this time for two games

The Miami Heat reportedly intend to suspend Jimmy Butler for two games, according to what ESPN informant Shams Charania has learned.

He missed a team flight Wednesday and was planning to join the Heat tonight, according to Charania sources. Miami has now reportedly decided to keep him out of the team’s two-game trip.

This would be a second suspension imposed by the Heat on its star player since the start of 2025. Butler has already been suspended seven games for his harmful conduct since the start of the season.

Butler returned to action last Friday and has played three games since returning from suspension. He totaled 39 points in three duels, against the Denver Nuggets, the San Antonio Spurs and the Portland Trail Blazers.

Butler would still like to leave Miami and be traded.

This season, he averaged 17.0 points, 5.2 rebounds and 4.8 assists per game. The Heat sit 21st in the East with a 21-21 record.
