Threatened on several fronts for its best talents, Bayern Munich resists with determination. The Bavarian club, who recently confirmed the signing of one of Germany’s most promising young talents, are also close to renewing the contracts of several key players.
If any club can compete with Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, it’s Bayern Munich. Alongside these two Spanish giants, the Rekordmeister is among the timeless teams where players aspire not only to sign, but also to stay.
Davies and Musiala on the verge of extension
For several months, the former German champions have had to deal with constant interest from Los Blancos for Alphonso Davies (24). The Canadian left-back, whose contract expires next June, could join the recent Champions League winners, as David Alaba did during the summer of 2021. After careful consideration, the young star has chosen to demonstrate of loyalty to the Roten, with a five-year extension on the horizon. Having previously played for the Vancouver Whitecaps, he is expected to receive a sizeable signing bonus, as well as an estimated annual gross salary of €15 million.

Another pressing topic concerns Jamal Musiala (21), the German attacking midfielder also monitored by Real Madrid and Manchester City, eager to secure his services. Aware of the attention surrounding his situation as his contract reaches its final 18 months, the playmaker has appeased his club’s leaders. “It’s funny what I read on social media. People know how much I appreciate the club and how much I love being at Bayern,” the former Chelsea man said at a press conference. “I’m focused on football; we’ll see what happens in the coming weeks. The discussions are going well.”

Signs that Bayern’s management is firmly in control are manifested by players publicly expressing their desire to stay. Leroy Sané (29 years old), whose contract ends next June, also favors continuity in the south of Germany. “Of course, clubs have already inquired about my situation. But everyone knows my position,” the former Manchester City player told Bild. “I’m not thinking about that right now, but I’m going to focus on Bayern and try to achieve as much success as possible with the team.”
Additionally, Bayern have decided to return to their tradition of acquiring the best young talents in German football. The current leaders of the Bundesliga announced on Tuesday the signing of Tom Bischof (19), at the end of his contract with Hoffenheim next June, for the next four years. The midfielder, a regular starter this season, becomes the first player from the country to join Bayern on a free transfer since Alexander Nübel in 2020, marking a significant change after a long period where the Allianz Arena team invested in promising foreign players while awaiting confirmation of local talent at the highest level.
