Fires and thefts: the suspect will return to court in February

Deemed fit to appear, Jess Simard, 37, accused of arson and break-ins in chalets in the Saint-Siméon sector at the beginning of the month “wants this to be resolved expeditiously”.

This is what he said as he returned to court today. Detained in a Quebec establishment, he appeared by videoconference.

Before entering any plea, he must speak with his lawyer, Me Charles Brochu.

The man faces 7 charges in three cases. Others will be added, said the representative of the public prosecutor.
