Fatal crash of a passenger plane into a chalet
A plane crashed this Tuesday on the roof of a chalet in Méribel, in the French Alps. The two occupants of the aircraft died.

This Tuesday, January 21 at the end of the afternoon, a fatal plane crash occurred in Savoie, in the town of Méribel-Les-Allues, reports “The Dauphiné Libéré”. The occupants of the aircraft, two men aged 26 and 58, died.

The passenger plane crashed on the roof of an unoccupied chalet. According to initial reports, “a collision with two tandem paragliders could have occurred just before”. Paragliders are out of danger, according to the Albertville public prosecutor, Benoît Bachelet.

The aircraft is believed to be a Piper PA-18 Super Cub, registered F-BAYP. The circumstances of the accident remain unknown at this time. A judicial investigation has been opened.
