James Clarkson, 20, won the sum of 7.5 million pounds sterling (approximately 8.9 million euros) in the lottery. For his father, the young man must keep “a reason to get up every day”.
“I was out in the cold fixing blocked pipes the day after I found out I had won,” James Clarkson told The Sun. Aged 20, this young man from Carlisle, a British town located fifteen kilometers south of Scotland, recently won a jackpot of 7.5 million pounds sterling (approximately 8.9 million euros) at the lottery.
However, it is not because he has become a millionaire that he should sit idle according to his father. “I’m not going to stop working, I’m too young. (…) I need to have a purpose in life, and dad wouldn’t let me not work anyway,” testified James Clarkson, who is planning to become a heating engineer.
“He explained to me that many millionaires still work because you have to have a reason to get up every morning,” the apprentice continued.
Gifts for the whole family
However, despite the ban on resigning, James Clarkson intends to have fun and share it with those close to him. He plans to buy new clothes and go on vacation. One of his first purchases was a luxury all-inclusive stay in Cape Verde.
-The young man also gave his girlfriend a Gucci bag. Besides the fashion items, the new millionaire also intends to help his parents pay off their mortgage, a decision he has carefully considered, he said.
“We are close and they have always been there for me. This amount is not just for me, I want to make sure that everyone benefits,” he assured.
