Fire at the Arbec factory in Amos

A major fire broke out at the Arbec Forest Products factory in Amos late Tuesday afternoon.

According to -, the fire started in a press at the factory. We called in reinforcements from firefighters from La Corne, Landrienne, Preissac and Saint-Marc-de-Figuery.

Tuesday evening, Mayor Sébastien d’Astous mentioned that the fire seemed contained inside the factory, but would have raged in the roof.

The extent of the damage was not known Tuesday evening.

Furthermore, the Town of Amos published a notice according to which a drop in pressure in the aqueduct network could occur. We asked to limit water consumption during part of the evening.
