Among the main transfer expenses planned for 2025, the municipal budget provides for a municipal allocation of 8.1 million euros for the police zone, 8.7 million euros for the CPAS and 1.1 million euros for the emergency zone of Walloon Brabant. On the revenue side, the total taxes, fees and charges should bring in 54.2 million euros for the City of Wavre.

Regarding investments, the extraordinary budget provides for 16.98 million euros. It is mainly comprised of projects already planned for 2024, with for example 6.3 million euros for the restoration of Notre-Dame de Basse-Wavre, an amount of 2.25 million euros for the renovation of the Place Henri Berger and one million euros for equipment for sports facilities.

While voting positively on this 2025 budget, the MR opposition called on the new majority for “increased vigilance” with regard to the financing of the police zone, observing that a withdrawal of 730,000 euros was made from the fund ordinary reserve to limit municipal allocation.
