While gusts of wind more than 100 km/h are envisaged on the French coast for Friday January 24, 2025, the Met Office, the English meteorological service, has just named, this Tuesday, the storm which will mainly affect the British Isles but with consequences for France.
Her name is Éowyn, namesake of the character in Lord of the Rings.
What to expect?
Concretely, a very hollow depression is expected over the British Isles at the end of the week. Direct consequence, the wind could be quite violent on the Channel coasts and accompanied by significant rainfall accumulations throughout the north-western quarter of France.
-After a very cold, but relatively dry week, the weather will change considerably in the coming days with the arrival of a first depression linked to storm Éowyn.
It will be followed, like an assault by Gondor and Rohan against Sauron, by another depression, probably for Sunday January 26. Météo-France speaks of a “South-West wind to watch over Brittany and along the Channel.
Maybe another storm then. We are already sure that it will not be called Frodo, the next storm name should indeed be Floris.
