The Edmonton Oilers star was scheduled to have a hearing with the NHL’s Department of Player Safety yesterday following a double-check he gave Vancouver Canucks forward Conor Garland , during the clash between Canadian troops last Saturday.
Yesterday, the verdict came in for Connor McDavid and he was given a three-game suspension for this action:
The NHL also punished Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers for a similar gesture he committed against Evan Bouchard. Myers also received a three-game suspension.
Following this verdict, opinions seemed divided regarding the suspension given to #97 of the Oilers. The main person concerned also stated that he was disappointed with this decision. However, despite his disagreement, he will not appeal the decision.
On the other hand, it seems that the Oilers captain could try to obtain revenge in another way against Gary Bettman and the NHL.
