President Aliyev meets his Iraqi counterpart in Davos UPDATED VIDEO

On January 21 in Davos, President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev met with President of the Republic of Iraq Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid at the latter’s request.

Recalling with pleasure his visit to Azerbaijan during COP29, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid sent his congratulations to his Azerbaijani counterpart for the success of this important event. The Iraqi president also reiterated his condolences for the plane crash.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed his thanks for the condolences.

The Azerbaijani president spoke with pleasure of his meetings with the Iraqi president and the discussions held during these meetings.

During the meeting, the parties discussed issues regarding the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Iraq, the organization of direct flights and the activity of the intergovernmental commission. The situation in the Middle East was also discussed, with emphasis once again placed on the importance of restoring peace and stability to the region.

During the meeting, the heads of state discussed issues of mutual interest.
