Sourgoubila: he said “yes” to his 7 wives

“They demanded that we clean the room before releasing us”

Kantigui learned with immense joy of the birth of a child in the family of one of his relatives living in the Toudbweogo district of Ouagadougou. Having gone to the family to welcome the newborn, Kantigui was informed that the parents had a run-in with the agents of the neighborhood Health and Social Promotion Center (CSPS) on the day the woman had to be released from the maternity ward after giving birth. From what was reported in Kantigui, health workers, particularly midwives, required attendants to clean the observation room before the woman was released. As a means of pressure, it was explained to Kantigui, the midwives “retained” the health record. “There were two other women besides my wife who were due to be released at the same time.

My wife’s sisters and the other companions were obliged to clean the room before we were given the notebooks,” regretted the Kantigui source. In seeking to understand, Kantigui learned that the CSPC service provider no longer cleans the center for reasons that Kantigui’s source says he does not know.

It is therefore to prevent the maternity ward from being unsanitary that health workers have found this “parade”. Even if Kantigui sees the merits of this approach, it still remains incomprehensible that users of this public service are forced to do so. Kantigui calls on CSPS officials to find a solution to the problem as quickly as possible.

More than a million IDPs return to their places of origin

Kantigui is delighted that our Fighting Forces are gaining ground in the reconquest of national territory. He cites as proof the announcement made by the Prime Minister, Rimtalba Jean Emmanuel Ouédraogo, on December 27, during his General Policy Declaration before the Transitional Legislative Assembly (ALT). Indeed, paying tribute to the Fighting Forces, the head of government revealed that 70.59% of the national territory is under control. It fell on Kantigui’s ears that in addition, this progression is accompanied by a gradual return of Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs) to their localities of origin. As of December 31, 2024, an internal source at the National Emergency Relief and Rehabilitation Council (CONASUR) informed Kantigui, 1,010,136 people from 165,375 households returned to 697 localities spread across the country. entire national territory. Kantigui congratulates all the actors who contributed to these major advances and encourages the ministry in charge of humanitarian action and its partners to continue their efforts to recover these returned IDPs, through endogenous solutions.

Municipality of Bobo-Dioulasso: special operation to verify staff attendance

The special delegation from the municipality of Bobo-Dioulasso wants to “see clearly” in the number of staff, but also in salaries. This is what Kantigui understood, upon reading a note from the President of the special delegation (PDS), Laurent Kontogom, dated December 27, 2024. The said note invites each agent reporting to the commune of Bobo-Dioulasso (agents municipal or civil servants made available) to physically present themselves to the human resources department, with their identification document (CNIB or passport), an individual information sheet duly completed and approved by the first responsible for his membership structure, his last pay slip and the appointment order for the agents made available to the municipality. Called: “Special operation to verify attendance and clean up the personnel and payroll file”, this approach will make it possible, according to the note, to control the actual presence of agents at their workstations as well as all elements of remuneration. The operation began on January 7 and will continue until January 30, 2025, every working day, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Kantigui congratulates the special municipal delegation of Bobo-Dioulasso and invites all municipalities in the country to join in this dynamic of improving personnel management and reducing the risks of undue payments.

Sourgoubila: he said “yes” to his 7 wives

Kantigui, who was staying in Sourgoubila, a rural commune located a stone’s throw from Ouagadougou, witnessed a rare event. Indeed, while Kantigui went to the town hall of Sourgoubila to support a friend who was getting married, on the occasion of the end-of-year collective weddings organized by the commune, he witnessed a marriage outside the common. The groom, an association president, has regularized his marital situation with his seven wives. There was general astonishment in the town hall audience room when the civil registrar in charge of celebrating the said marriage announced the number of wives of the happy groom who naturally opted for the polygamy regime. All smiles, the latter told Kantigui that it is a choice and that his seven wives understand each other well. Kantigui wishes the best to the polygamist who was congratulated and encouraged from all sides after the official act.

TGI Ouaga I: Pétronille Tarpaga still at the helm

As part of the launch of the special empty locker operation, Kantigui learned from a judicial source that Pétronille Tarpaga appeared on Monday January 20, 2025 for contempt of court. We remember that during the publicized trial of the Tiégnan affair, the one who appeared freely had uttered insults in full court. And Kantigui’s informant clarified that it was this case which was judged last Monday. Kantigui’s informant indicated that at the bar, the defendant’s counsel questioned his client in the following terms: “Can you insult someone (editor’s note, deputy prosecutor) who allowed you to appear freely after auditioning you? “. And Lady Tarpaga responded in the negative (…). At the end of his requisition, the prosecutor asked for 6 months in prison and a fine of 300,000 CFA francs. The verdict is expected on February 3, 2025.

CMA de Pissy: these toilets that stop all desire!

While he went to visit a patient hospitalized at the Medical Center with surgical branch (CMA) in Pissy last weekend, Kantigui was informed by one of the patient’s companions of a situation that was uncomfortable to say the least. He expressed to Kantigui his frustration with the fact that emergency toilets are simply closed after dark. Forced to go to the toilets in another building despite everything, he was unpleasantly surprised. Indeed, in addition to the repulsive odor that emanates, no bulb lit these toilets, although they were used by patients and their companions. Kantigui joins his voice to those accompanying patients to ask the administration to ensure the cleanliness of these places of comfort. The CMA could draw inspiration from the example of the Bogodogo University Hospital (CHU), where old people maintain the toilets, in exchange for payment from users.

Ouagadougou: municipal police put order on the Saponé road

In his tours in the city of Ouagadougou, Kantigui came across an operation to evict traders “illegally and anarchically” occupying the area around National Route 6 (RN6), commonly called the Saponé road. This Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the operation which consisted of clearing the area around this road was led by the director general of the municipal police in person. “They have been alerted, warned and even made aware on several occasions, but the traders who anarchically occupy the roads and those who are installed in the tar gutters have not left the scene. Since the press release was issued by the government, we have come to give them the information, but they are reluctant,” whispered to Kantigui, a police officer. Despite the pleas of traders, Kantigui noted the removal of kiosks, shops and other businesses. From what was said in Kantigui, this operation began in the Tengandogo district and will continue along the entire axis leading to the Patte d’Oie roundabout. According to municipal police officers, this operation will not be the last because the municipal police have included it in a program which will last three months in order to free the arteries of the city of Ouagadougou. Kantigui invites people to respect the rules that govern the city because no development is possible in anarchy.
