Burgundy, his second homeland

« LBurgundy is a bit like my second home…” These were the words of Bertrand Blier, spoken in 2013, during an interview he gave to Public goodon the occasion of his appearance at the Semur-en-Auxois film festival

The director and screenwriter spoke of his family – “On my father’s side (the actor Bernard Blier, Editor’s note), there were Burgundians”, he said, but also of his filming in the region, and in particular that of the stage ultra-famous of the canal, in The Valseuses. Bertrand Blier, who was to meet high school students during his visit to the festival, also spoke of Châtillon-sur-Seine, “owhere we often stopped with my father to eat in a rather fabulous restaurant whose name I have forgotten”, by Father Dumaine (a legendary chef, predecessor of Dominique Loiseau, nicknamed during his lifetime “the king of chefs ”).

He also mentioned the role of small country cinemas, “one of the last ways to bring people together”.
