“Like all the inhabitants of the village, we would like to know what happened“. Gilbert Dal Pan, mayor (SE) of Saint-Loup de Nau remains perplexed. Last November, a house in the town of Seine-et-Marne exploded.
One person died and another was seriously injured. Two months later, the mayor and residents still do not know what caused the explosion. “JI heard a big breath“, says a resident. “It felt like a bomb had exploded.“, adds another.
-According to the first elements of the investigation carried out by the Versailles judicial police, the explosion was not linked to a gas leak. For their part, the neighbors describe “a kind of bombardment“, in their own words.
The house in question belonged until 2018 to Michel Charbonnier, a collector of objects from the First World War. He died 7 years ago in the explosion of his vehicle while he was accompanied by his grandson.
Investigators are trying to elucidate these two tragedies. In the town, residents wonder if one of the shells he had could have caused the house to explode.
“He had a lot of utensils from the Great War. On November 11 and May 8, he came dressed in furry clothes every year. It was his passion, nothing more.“, nuances the mayor on this subject. The public prosecutor of Melun recently confirmed the presence of explosive charges in the debris, but for the moment, no detonator has been found.
