The spokesperson for the Sousse 2 first instance court, Hajer Aich, announced that the public prosecutor at the same court issued, this Monday, a committal warrant against the owner of a vehicle who had, on Sunday last, intercepted a truck transporting domestic gas cylinders.
The accused was referred to the criminal chamber of the court to answer charges of premeditated attack on traffic and obstruction of freedom to work.
In a statement to the TAP agency, Hajer Aich specified that the public prosecutor had ordered, on Sunday, the taking into custody of the owner of the vehicle as well as the seizure of it as part of the investigation.
This decision follows the broadcast of a video on social networks showing a vehicle, accompanied by a group of motorcyclists, intercepting a large truck loaded with domestic gas cylinders on a local road linking the towns of Akouda and Kalaa Sghira. These individuals allegedly tried to stop the truck and seize its cargo.
-Indeed, in Kalaa Sghira, a significant event had been reported: an attempted robbery of a truck transporting gas canisters by a group of individuals on motorcycles and by a car. The incident occurred on Sunday January 19 on local road 819 linking Akouda to Kalaa Sghira.
The rapid intervention of the National Guard allowed the arrest of the suspects involved.
