Hostage’s Father Meets with Hague Prosecutor to Pressure Netanyahu

Hostage Nimrod Cohen’s father is to meet the chief prosecutor of the International Criminal Court in The Hague, Karim Khan, today (Tuesday) to convince him to use the arrest warrants to push the deal forward on the hostages, according to Israeli public radio Kan. During this meeting, the father will seek to persuade the prosecutor to act with the Israeli government to put an end to the war and above all to concretize phase 2 of the agreement, during which his son Nimrod, whose family received a sign of life a few months ago, should be released. This face-to-face interview follows a previous meeting last month with Khan’s team.

In his appeal to Karim Khan, the father intends to request the use of the arrest warrants issued against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in November as a means of putting pressure on the government. The meeting will also discuss legal legislation and the decision not to establish a parliamentary commission of inquiry into the events of October 7.

“Netanyahu is committing war crimes against Israeli soldiers by prolonging a meaningless war for over a year. If support for the arrest warrants pushes him to abandon his personal interests and move toward an agreement down to the last hostage – I will,” Yehuda told the Knesset Constitution Committee last week.

For his part, Netanyahu presented the ministers with a text including the commitment to resume fighting until the destruction of Hamas if no agreement is reached with the terrorist organization on the continuation of phases 2 and 3 of the liberation framework. hostages.
