War in Ukraine: “28 T-55 tanks, 8 PT-76 tanks…” the long list of donations from a Russian production company to the army

A Russian film production company is donating some armored vehicles to support the army, hit by a shortage of tanks. Tanks whose real effectiveness is doubtful and uncertain.

The Mosfilm company, created in 1920 and recognized for numerous films such as The Battleship Potemkin by Sergei Eisenstein in 1925, donated old Russian tanks to the army to support the war in Ukraine, reports Geo.

A welcome gesture since Russia has lost nearly 3,500 heavy vehicles since the start of the invasion, with 2,484 tanks destroyed, 158 damaged, 374 abandoned and 533 captured by the adversary, according to The War Zone.

Indeed, these are very old tanks. “The first prototype of the T-54/55 appeared in 1945, while the PT-76 amphibious tanks have been in service since 1952”according to the site.

Then, these tanks and armored vehicles could be dismantled to recover spare parts or used as decoys to deceive the Ukrainians. “Mosfilm is our pride”declared V. Putin with enthusiasm.
